Rebuilding Washington

First it was the East Wing of the White House conversion to a metamaga dining room.

Now the Kennedy Center, closed for two years since its attendance has tanked as a consequence of renaming and destruction of the board of directors.

Who knows where it will end.

On a personal note, my collection of American periodicals and pulp magazines is being sold in a series of auctions by Adventure House and Heritage Auctions. It is time to divest myself of the product of fifty years of collecting.

It’s also time to move on the new horizons:

A show at the Grolier club in 2029 “United We Stood: the Magazines that Inspired the World War Two Homefront.”

Finishing the third book of my FDR trilogy. This one about his physician Ross T. McIntire specifically and Navy medicine in general. “FDR’s Unsung Hero: The Doctor that Saved a Presidency and Changed History” Boy did he ever!!

Writing a catalog of Sylvia Plath’s magazine appearances. Amazed it has yet to be done. Going full circle here- began with Norman Rockwell in the 1970s.

Still working as a neurologist and enjoying it more than ever. No plans to retire.

Celebrating friends and family. Watching my four grandchildren thrive in their endeavors and watching the Seattle Mariners play in the World Series.
